Introduction
Tucked into the corner of Wandle Park, this concrete park was built by Freestyle and opened in 2012 as part of the wider regeneration of the park.
The layout is essentially a square, with transitions built into each corner and different sections running around the perimeter. One side is dominated by a spine, with quarters at either end that make it particularly popular with BMXers. Opposite, a more street-oriented section combines a funbox, manny pad and ledge, with plenty of hips and smaller transitions.
In the middle sits an odd cobbled stone section, breaking up the otherwise smooth concrete and giving the park a slightly unusual character.
There’s plenty to skate here, with a good mix of transition, hips and street features that can be linked together in different ways.
A varied local park set in a surprisingly green corner of Wandle Park, with the River Wandle running alongside.
